MEDAC COMMENDS SEBA EFFORTS TO BLOOM MALAYSIA’S ECONOMY

SME and Entrepreneurs Business Awards (SEBA), is an annual award ceremony held by Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia aimed at bringing exposure to the most notable companies and entrepreneurs in Malaysia. With Celcom’s support, the 6th Grand Awards Gala Evening was hosted on 9 December 2021 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Tan Sri Datuk Sri Haji Noh Omar, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC), Dato Suriani, Secretary General of MEDAC and all the Board of Advisory of SEBA 2021 were a part of the 350 attendees who witnessed this year’s most outstanding Entrepreneurs, SMEs and businesses.

To celebrate the businesses that have been fighting against the odds during the pandemic, the theme for SEBA was set to ‘Thriving the Waves’ – as entrepreneurs, SMEs and businesses overcome huge obstacles that obstructed their path to great success. In this year’s SEBA 2021 awards, Halal-preneur Award and the Young Entrepreneur Award were added to the list.

In order to claim the SEBA award, the nominees underwent a strict 8-phase qualifying and verification framework by SEBA’s research committees and Board of Advisors.

With the new added categories, a total of 42 awards such as healthcare, telecommunications, security services, food and beverages, logistics and many more were allocated to various SMEs and entrepreneurs from different industries.

Tan Sri Datuk Sri Haji Noh Omar, Minister of MEDAC stated that “Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia recognizes entrepreneurs who have succeeded in cementing their names within their respective industries and simultaneously elevating Malaysia in the global arena.”

He added saying, “MEDAC is confident that the vision and mission of achieving an entrepreneurial nation will succeed with the cooperation of teamwork from various backgrounds in line with the concept of Keluarga Malaysia.”

With these efforts made by Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia, he also hopes that other entrepreneurs will appreciate the supports and contribution that was provided by them.

Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia’s e-magazine “Asia Connects” launched during SEBA 2021, was made by business pioneers for business pioneers with the aim of providing of an enhanced platform for many SMEs and entrepreneurs as they provide additional provincial development possibilities towards a post-pandemic recovery.
