Who We Are
The Olive Tree Group is a foresighted organisation that creates gourmet dining experiences throughout Malaysia. Gourmet entrepreneur Leslie Gomez founded the company in 2003, and it now operates high-performance restaurants and pubs, with exciting new projects in the pipeline. The Olive Tree Group owns and manages its restaurants and pubs and collaborates with chefs from India and Malaysia to help the business thrives in Malaysia. Since its establishment, the Olive Group has constructed and maintained several of Malaysia’s most successful culinary establishments.
By bringing in international chefs, primarily from India and local chefs, Leslie’s reputation for bringing quality cuisine with excellent services to the Malaysian landscape has grown. Over the last two decades, the group has opened nearly every year, culminating in over 20 bars and restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Malacca, and Johor Bahru.
According to Gomez, as competition rose in the gastro industry, growth was a critical strategy for The Olive Tree Group to develop and keep the brand fresh in consumers’ minds. From 2003 through 2019, the company was named one of the most significant locations to visit, eat, and drink. The restaurants and bars under The Olive Tree Group have been recognised by Trip Advisor as an excellent location to have unique Northern Indian Food/gastro-sports bar like Rock Bottom has been featured on social media as the place to be to get the entire package at your fingertips for a fantastic night out.
