Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia urges Malaysia Government for Clear and Reasonable SOPs for Businesses

KUALA LUMPUR, 4th February 2021 – The extension of Movement Control Operation (MCO) has prompted a rally from ‘Industries United’, a voice formed by representatives from 37 industry representation, shows the difficult situation Malaysian businesses are facing at the moment.

Echoing the effort from ‘Industries United’, Nitesh Malani Chairman of Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia and the founder of SME and Entrepreneurs Business Awards | SEBA believes that clear SOPs and support are crucial for the next 12 -24 months in order for the SMEs at large to survive.

“The return of MCO is extremely tough on businesses, particularly the SMEs and retail businesses. If a MCO extension is inevitable, clear SOPs for each industry and support must be put in place and made available immediately. A recovery planning is crucial for many industries and we surely hope the government can provide the necessary support.”

The SME and Entrepreneurs Business Awards | SEBA 2020, organised by the Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia initially scheduled the 5th installment Award Gala Dinner to be on the 7th November 2020 but was interrupted by the MCO and RMCO operations. Organising Chairperson Lyndia Wong mentioned the committee will make an announcement when the MCO is lifted.
